FAQ

  • For prosthetic and custom orthotic patients, an appointment is necessary to provide the best service for you. To schedule an appointment at your convenience, call the office at (706) 232-4383. For prefabricated (“off-the-shelf”) braces, walk-ins are always welcome and no appointment is necessary. Simply come by our clinic during office hours. For foot orthotics, we are happy to see you on a walk-in basis without an appointment. We will take an impression of your feet and then schedule you for your custom insert delivery.

  • Yes, orthotic and prosthetic clinics are required to have a prescription for each device.  For prosthetic patients, we can evaluate your current need without an active prescription but a recent prescription (< 6 months old) from your medical provider will be needed prior to any subsequent visits.  We may be able to assist you in obtaining a prescription from your provider after an evaluation.  Referrals may be faxed to us at 706-232-4667.

  • We are contracted with most insurance companies in the area including Medicaid and we will handle the filing of claims on your behalf. Please call us to verify that we are in network with your specific plan.

  • Most items have some coverage, depending on your specific plan. Some items such as custom foot orthotics and compression stockings have variable coverage by insurance plans, but we will check your benefits at the time of service so that you will have no surprises.  Our patient care staff is highly skilled at navigating the complex and ever-changing health insurance industry to determine your coverage and process your claim. For some custom prosthetics, we will make every effort to assess your specific financial situation and provide a flexible payment plan if necessary.

  • We work with some workers comp companies.  Please call us to see if we work with your plan.
